Steve Mbogo, a Kenyan development journalist and a regional security analyst is the winner of Earth Journalism Awards (2009). Awarded in December 2009 in Denmark, the awards reward excellence in Climate Change Reporting. He most often writes on topics that highlight social development trends ranging from how smallholder agriculture is being transformed into business rather than just a source of household food in Africa, to how affordable contributory social health insurance schemes can help Africa's poor access almost free healthcare services. Mbogo takes assignments on these and other issues about Africa from local and foreign media.
